Chateau Gazin, Pomerol 0,75ltr. 95/100RP
Grand Pomerol with generous and long-lived wines. Neighbor of Chateau Peters.
The history of Château Gazin in Pomerol originated in 1772 when a certain Antoine Feuilhade bought the vineyards. Over the years, Château Gazin also often passes to new owners until the Bailliencourt family buys the domain in 1946. Today, this family still owns Château Gazin. The domain has two good neighbours; Chateau Petrus and Chateau L'Evangile. Once, Gazin even sold 5.5 hectares to Pétrus. Château Gazin had quite a few quality issues until a large-scale renovation was completed in 1996. Since then, the domain has been revitalized and can now be counted among the better wines from Pomerol. With 26.5 hectares of vineyards, Château Gazin is a large winery by Pomerol standards. 90% is planted with Merlot, 6% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Cabernet Franc. Generous wines with great aging potential.
