Chateau d'Issan Margaux, 3rd Grand cru classé de Medoc 0,75ltr
The story of Château d'Issan cannot be told without mentioning that the first wine transaction in the history of Bordeaux took place here. It concerns a transaction between the British crown of Henry III and the Seigneuries de Cantenac (part of which would become d'Issan). The estate is a step back in time with its turrets, battlements and moat. History drips from it.
Tasting Notes 94/100 James Suckling
“Blackberry, blueberry, graphite, clove, tobacco and mahogany on the nose. It's medium-to full-bodied with firm, fine-grained tannins. Very tight and refined with a mineral finish. Pretty finesse and focus. Second wine. Better from 2024.” -James Suckling
