Domaine Jean Jacques Confuron, Chambolle Musigny 1.5 ltr
Concerns rare Magnum bottles
The winemakers couple Sophie Confuron and Alain Meunier have reached the top of Burgundy since 1990. This is not only proven by the worldwide rave reviews from Clive Coates and Robert Parker, among others, but also by the exceptional quality of the wines, which is not unknown to many wine lovers. From the harvest in 1990, the style of the wines changes. Thanks to different vinification techniques and a longer maceration, the fruit is much more concentrated. In 1993 they also started making the wines completely organic. The very old vineyards are also very strictly maintained and they try to harvest as late as possible to have a perfect ripening of the grapes. The yield is therefore very small, but the quality is all the greater. The new techniques in the cellar, the insight into craftsmanship, but above all the enthusiasm of both, mean that their wines have risen to unprecedented quality.
Tasting note
This Chambolle-Musigny 1er cru 2019 has powerful fruity aromas reminiscent of raspberries and candied strawberries on the nose, accompanied by a touch of violet and an earthy nuance with hints of truffle and mushrooms. In the mouth it is fresh with soft tannins. A very aromatic wine with an excellent structure and a lot of elegance and a beautiful aftertaste. In one word “fantastic”!
